Furniture Technician and Furniture Repair in Khatai District: Bed Base Lift Mechanism Not Working
Furniture technician and furniture repair services in Khatai District. Professional repair of a bed base lift mechanism when the base is difficult to raise, does not remain open, and the gas struts have weakened.
A customer living in Khatai District requested furniture repair because the bed base lift mechanism was no longer working as it had before. According to the customer, lifting the upper section of the bed to access the storage compartment had recently become much more difficult. Previously, the base could be raised easily and would remain in the open position, but over time more force was required to lift it. Even after being raised, the base would not stay in position and gradually lowered on its own. The operator asked about the dimensions of the bed, the type of lift mechanism, and how long the problem had been occurring. After gathering the initial information, a suitable furniture technician was scheduled for the following day.
After arriving at the address, the technician inspected the bed lift mechanism, gas struts, metal connections, hinge points, and the areas where the base was attached to the frame. The furniture technician operated the mechanism several times to check whether both sides were working evenly. No serious deformation was found in the metal lifting components, but the gas struts were no longer providing sufficient force to support the weight of the bed base.
During a detailed inspection, it was determined that both gas struts had weakened as a result of long-term use. Due to the loss of internal pressure, the struts could no longer provide adequate support for the weight of the bed base. As a result, the base was difficult to lift and gradually lowered after being placed in the open position. Some of the mounting screws on the lift mechanism were also found to be slightly loose.
During the furniture repair, the weakened gas struts were replaced with new ones suitable for the dimensions of the bed and the weight of the base. The furniture technician reinforced the mounting points of the lift mechanism, checked the positioning of the metal components, and made the necessary adjustments to ensure that the mechanism operated evenly on both sides. Since no additional damage was found to the frame or the bed base itself, no other parts needed to be replaced.
After completing the repair, the furniture technician fully opened and closed the bed base several times to test the mechanism. It was confirmed that the base was much easier to lift, remained securely in the open position, and lowered smoothly and in a controlled manner when closing. The lifting mechanisms on both sides were also confirmed to operate simultaneously without unusual noises, jamming, or excessive play.
The work was completed in approximately 1.5 hours. The customer was advised not to ignore the problem if the bed base becomes difficult to lift, does not remain in the open position, lowers on its own, or unusual noises come from the lift mechanism. Such problems may be related to weakened gas struts, loose mechanism fasteners, deformation of the metal lifting components, or damage to the mounting points on the bed frame.
