Furniture Technician and Furniture Repair in 28 May: Kitchen Drawer Not Closing Completely
Furniture technician and furniture repair services in 28 May. Professional repair for a kitchen drawer that is difficult to move, does not close completely, or has worn telescopic drawer slides.
A customer living in the 28 May area requested furniture repair because one of the kitchen drawers was no longer opening and closing as smoothly as before. According to the customer, initially there was only slight resistance at the final stage when closing the drawer. After some time, the drawer began to jam while moving, tilt to one side, and remain a few centimeters open instead of closing completely. It was possible to close the drawer by lifting it slightly by hand, but the problem occurred again with every use. The operator asked about the type of furniture, the size of the drawer, the design of the slide system, and how long the problem had been occurring. After gathering the initial information, a suitable furniture technician was scheduled for the following day.
After arriving at the address, the technician opened and closed the drawer several times to check the operation of the mechanism. The furniture technician inspected the drawer body, telescopic slides, mounting points, screws, and the position of the drawer relative to the furniture cabinet. The inspection showed that there was no serious deformation of the furniture body, but the right and left sides of the drawer were not moving at the same level. Excessive play and abnormal friction were detected in one of the drawer slides.
During a detailed inspection, it was determined that the roller mechanism inside the telescopic slide had become worn. As a result of prolonged use, excessive play had developed inside the slide, causing the weight of the drawer to be distributed unevenly between the two slides. At the same time, several screws securing the slide had become loose, causing one side of the drawer to drop slightly. As a result, the drawer did not move correctly along the slides when closing, became stuck near the end of its travel, and failed to close completely.
During the furniture repair, the worn telescopic slide set was removed and replaced with new slides suitable for the size and expected load of the drawer. The furniture technician installed both slides at the same height and parallel to each other, reinforced the loosened mounting points, and readjusted the position of the drawer relative to the furniture cabinet. The bottom section of the drawer and its connection points were also inspected. It was confirmed that there was no additional looseness or structural damage.
After completing the repair, the furniture technician tested the drawer several times with different loads. It was confirmed that the drawer moved smoothly and evenly along the slides, did not tilt to one side, and no longer jammed while closing. The drawer closed completely and aligned properly with the furniture cabinet, while no unusual noises or excessive play were observed in the slide mechanism.
The work was completed in approximately 1.5 hours. The customer was advised not to apply excessive force if a drawer jams while opening or closing, one side drops lower than the other, unusual noises come from the slides, or the drawer does not close completely. Such problems may be related to worn telescopic slides, loose mounting screws, or incorrect drawer alignment. Therefore, it is recommended to have the problem checked promptly by a furniture technician.
